Recently, a delegation of 100 faculty members and students from the Vietnamese Youth Study Camp, themed “Following Revolutionary Ideals, Building the Future Together,” visited Guangxi University (GXU). Vu Huy Duong, head of the study camp delegation, member of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and Deputy Director of the Youth Affairs Department of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, took part in the visit. Zuo Xianglei, President of the Guangxi Youth Federation, and Yu Wenjin, Vice President of GXU, met with representatives of the delegation.

Yu welcomed the delegation and introduced GXU’s history, disciplinary development, and achievements in international cooperation. He noted that GXU’s West Campus is the site of the former Guangxi Nanning Yucai School, also known as the Vietnamese Central School Zone, which once trained a large number of backbone talents for Vietnam’s revolutionary and nation-building efforts and stands as an important witness to the red friendship, educational exchanges, and people-to-people ties between China and Vietnam.

He said that GXU has long taken advantage of its location adjacent to ASEAN to continuously deepen educational exchange and cooperation with Vietnam. He expressed hope that this study camp would serve as an opportunity to further build a regular platform for exchanges between Chinese and Vietnamese youth, and to continuously promote mutual visits, cultural learning, and academic exchange, injecting youthful strength into the building of a higher-level China–Vietnam community with a shared future.

Vu Huy Duong thanked GXU for its warm reception and introduced the background and purpose of the study camp. He said that the program strictly implements the important instructions of the leaders of the two Parties and two countries on deepening exchanges among Chinese and Vietnamese youth and consolidating traditional friendship. Its aim is to bring outstanding Vietnamese young people to Guangxi and to universities, to revisit revolutionary history, experience China’s development, and deepen friendship among youth.

He also thanked GXU for its contributions to China–Vietnam educational cooperation, youth exchanges, and joint talent cultivation, and expressed the hope that the two sides would continue to broaden cooperation, enrich exchange formats, and establish long-term mechanisms to advance China–Vietnam youth friendship in a substantive and sustained way.

The delegation paid tribute to a statue of Chairman Ho Chi Minh and laid flowers in his honor, visited the historical exhibition of the former Guangxi Nanning Yucai School, and watched the documentary “Deep China–Vietnam Friendship, Comrades and Brothers.” They also toured science popularization venues such as the Marine Science and Education Museum and the coral breeding room, and took part in hands-on activities such as making green rice dumplings and zongzi.
